Ultimate Guide To Fall Handbag Trends | As Seen On The Daily Glow

Much like shoes, when it comes to handbags, it doesn’t matter if you have 3 or 30– you are always keeping your eye out for some of those new styles and trends to add to your collection.
This past week, I had the pleasure of chatting with the super fab and hilarious ladies of  The Daily Glow, a daily lifestyle talk show that airs LIVE on Facebook, Monday thu Friday at 1PM (ET) on Little Things.

(You can catch the full episode here )
When I caught the episode in playback a lot of viewers were asking for more information about the specific bags I brought, so in addition to sharing the trends– I’m going to link up to some of the exact bags I displayed on the show, as well as some other similar ones you can snag online.

Ok! So let’s talk fall handbag trends….

Blush

In my all-time favorite “chick flick“, Steal Magnolias, Shelby (played by a very young Julia Roberts) boasts proudly about her upcoming wedding– “My colors are blush and bashful, mama!”. Well Shelby would be beyond thrilled in 2017 because blush is totally having a moment this year. It is the new black, the new neutral, the new “it” color
… and I personally cannot get enough!! I find myself drawn to it in clothing, home decor and accessories– hence why I brought 3 different bags in different shades of blush with me on The Daily Glow.
…. I. could. not. help. myself!!!!
Must have all the blush.

Circular Cross Body

If there was ever a must-have bag shape, circular bags would be it. The shape is a fun departure from all of your standard bag shapes and the easy breezy, cross body straps make it a bit like a modern-day, (way chic-er) fanny pack. Perfect for commuting to and from work!

And perhaps the most autumn round handbag of them all…

Chic Backpacks

|The one I featured was by Bebe and found at TJ Maxx for $25.99. Similar one here|
The 90’s is my decade, you guys. If you’ve been reading the site for a while– you know this and it comes as no surprise how excited I am about every designer out there jumping on the 90’s backpack fashion revival.
Chic backpacks create an effortless look whether dressed up or dressed down. To perfectly pair it with your outfit, keep an eye structure and details.
Structured backpacks with fancy hardware pairs great for a richer upscale look while slouchy backpacks with camo prints, denim or cotton fabrics or studded rocker-esque details are great to pair for a more grunge look.
Ahhh grunge… The 90’s are back ya’ll!

Extreme Sizing: The Micro Mini and Super Sized

| O-Ring mini bag by Lauren Conrad, Kohl’s $44|

It may sound contradictory but indeed both mini and large bags are on trend this fall– but the key factor is not to go for your average small or large bag, to be on top of the handbag size trend, it needs to be TO. THE. EXTREME.

With your large bags, you want to super-size it! The bigger the better. Looks like you can pack for an over night getaway? PERFECT! Slouchy, oversized hobo bags are perfect to wear on those chilly fall days when you are rocking your comfiest chunky sweater and sipping on a latte.

And when it comes to the small bags, the micro mini is the way to go!  Mini backpacks or bucket bags or the O-ring mini bucket bag by Lauren Conrad that I featured on The Daily Glow eye catching because their miniature twist on traditional bag styles is so unique.

speaking of rings…

Circular Handles

A bit of a two in one accessory, bags with circular handles are often referred to as a “bracelet bag” and are a fun trend this year that gives your average bucket or tote bag a little bit of a unique edge!

Caramel Suede

|Above is similar to the one featured on The Daily Glow.|
Caramel suede is always a fall fashion staple when it comes to handbags. I love this texture and color most in satchel bags that beg to be paired with a pair of riding boots and some plaid.

Statement Straps + Detail

Carrying over from summer trends, personalizing your bag with added details is still all the rage.  Guitar straps give an ordinary fall slouchy handbag a pop of color and personality.  Feeling a little boho? Add some tassel or fringe. A little city chic? Add a fuzzy pom. There is literally an accessory that can be added for every mood and outfit.

Which are your favorite trends?
