You know those weeks you have everything going on at once and barely have time to sleep? That was this week at the now on-the-move Complicated Chateau.
This week, we literally moved from our home to a temporary apartment and left 12 hours later for a wedding weekend… 250 miles away… Oh, yea… and then there was Mother’s day- which we headed back home for at 6:30 am.
With the craziness of it all, and my growing frame, I never really finalized what I was going to wear to the rehearsal or the wedding– so naturally, I was left scrambling hours before we were leaving.
One of the first things I went to was a new maxi dress I had received from Belly Dance Maternity.
It’s long. It’s flowy. It’s made from a crazy-soft cotton and ridiculously comfy.
When I had first tried it on, I immediately knew I would be wearing to many summer get-togethers….. but would I be able to unearth the the right accessories from the depths of our many, many moving boxes to dress it up?
I found a neutral crystal teardrop necklace and dangling gold coin earrings and was amazed at how this simple summer dress transformed into something classy, elegant and perfect for a dinner party.
My bump wasn’t very noticeable in this NOM Skylar Maxi (when I didn’t pose with it), and the dress didn’t “look maternity” at all– making it something you could wear postpartum as well. So while it may be a little on the pricey side, at $114– the quality, versatility and long-wear potential make it a smart wardrobe purchase.
In addition to NOM, Belly Dance Maternity offer a great selection of trendy maternity styles and brands such as Liz Lange, Bravado, Olian, and Isabella Oliver. If you are looking for some unique and trendy pieces to add to your summer maternity wardrobe- be sure to check them out!
