Carpool Couture: Everyday Mom Style For Life On The Go

School and sports are in full swing, calendars are filling up and busy mama’s are beginning to feel like they LIVE in their car, amiright?

Truthfully though, no matter the time of year, getting our kids and ourselves ready and out the door is never a small feat.

Often, our go-to plan of action is getting the kids dressed, ready, bags packed… and then in the last few minutes we have to spare– scramble to make ourselves ‘presentable’ for the outside world.

This mundane cycle of putting ourselves last,  can put us into a slump of wearing things we don’t love – and not to mention feeling a little frumptastic.

I mean, who has the time?– right? I’ve been there. It doesn’t have to be this way, ladies!

When we look good, we feel good. And trust me, we can all toooootally pull off polished and stylish while remaining comfy on the go.

Everyday Mom Style for Busy Moms – Look Amazing In No Time

Below I ‘ve put together just a few super basic, everyday mom style and beauty tips that can help!

1. Embrace Wraps & Messy Buns

Wraps and messy buns are IN, my friends! We need to embrace it, hug it, and pray that they never go “out of style”.  Wraps and messy buns are a GOD-send for those busy mornings, when styling your hair is pretty much out of the question.

2. Know Your 3-minute Make-Up Routine

Every mom needs one. Not everyone’s routine will be the same, but you need to know what 3 key products make you feel and look your best, and forget the rest. Right now, my out-the-door-3 minute makeup routine is BB Cream, Mascara and Lipgloss.  If there are 2 minutes to spare, my 5-minute routine usually includes a neutral eye shadow and some blush.

3. Accessorize– Sunnies, scarves and statements

The right accessories can totally transform an every day teeshirt and jeans type of outfit. Sunnies A great pair of sunglasses hide tired eyes, which many of us (especially those with sleepless babies) tend to involuntarily sport around throughout the day. These sunglasses can be cheap and chic. Yes, I just said cheap and I’ll tell you why– when you are on the go with kids, sunglasses are so easily lost… or {gulp} broken. I usually stock up on 2-3 inexpensive pairs from The Loft, H&M or TJ Maxx. {Psst! …. The Loft is having a sale right now … 2 pairs of sunnies for $34! }

Statement Scarves & Necklaces You would be surprised how scarves and necklaces can up the game of that plain ol’ white teeshirt. Again, stock up on some inexpensive options and you rotate them through out the week for new looks.

4. Don’t settle on the standard

There is no denying, flats are FAB when you are moonlighting as your kid’s personal Uber. I have a borderline obsession with wedges and booties, and flats continue to be my go-to when I am trying to run out the door because yea, most days, I’m both lazy and typically, that crunched on time. But flats can don’t have to be boring! I know brown and black go with everything, but start considering those metallics and leopard print pairs that are calling your name. They add a little personal style to those every day carpool looks and remember, fashion icons like Coco Chanel and Audrey Hepburn lived by their every day flats.

Tell me, what is your go-to carpool style?
