Last week was one of the craziest weeks of the year for me – mostly in part to Toy Fair – but I did more than scope out toys last week.
Oh, yes I did.
You see, after hanging with Godzilla size Care Bears and riding elevators with Power Rangers, I headed to the Fashion District for a little taste of Fashion Week– And, IT. WAS. FABULOUS.
At ULTA’s Fashion Week party, I was treated to a little pampering (as seen above) while learning about their amazing partnership with Carvan Stylist Studios. In an effort to support NYC’s iconic Fashion District, the two companies are creating a platform for designers to showcase their designs to fashion influencers.
The room was filled with racks of clothes created by New York designers, a plethora of beautiful make-up choices-
and of course, social{media} butterflies.
The morning was fun and fab just like its organizers- Dawn and Elizabeth, authors of Plan To Party and New Jersey party planner extraordinaires, and just what the doctor ordered after days of hoofing it around Toy Fair.
Seriously- how adorable are they? Love them!
From the ULTA event, I headed over to Lincoln Center to see some of my fashionable friends strut their stuff on the run way in Fashion Week’s very first All-Mom Fashion Show.
From Carol Cain in her studded gold Macy’s dress to Audrey McClellan’s coral strapless look from TJMaxx- these Mama’s rocked the runway in looks that are all available at retail today.
I think my favorite look of the night was Vera Sweeney’s gorgeous flowy black dress from Marshalls! Next time I have a formal event, I am hunting that dress down!
The Strut show was the first fashion show I’ve ever attended during fashion week and it went by way too fast. Who knew fashion shows were only 20 minutes long?
Here are some of more of my favorite looks from the show-
Dawn Sandomeno
Thanks so much for attending and sharing here. I loved meeting you and you looked beautiful!

How fun! These are the times I wish I lived in NYC.
