It seems so long ago, but I remember going for manicures every Saturday morning, Ahh– those were the good ol’ days. Remember when airbrush designs were all the rage? (What? free design with a full set up tips? sign. me. up.) Ha! Nail art has come a long way – And thank God for that!
While I don’t get the chance to get my mani/pedi’s professionally done as often as I once did- my daughter and I love home mani/pedi’s all the same. And today, short manicured nails are “in” which makes me trendy, not exhausted.
The bonus for this in-home manicurist I’ve become, is that there are so many fun and funky nail polish out that requires little to no talent to pull off. The nail polish does all the artwork its self . You know who started that trend? A Mom. I’m sure of it.
Just a few months ago, I fell in love with chunky-glitter nail polish.
And then this weekend when I was flipping through the pages of Self Magazine I discovered Magnetic Nail Laquer. How fun is this?
This nail laquer has magnetic powder in it. After you’ve put on your first coat, and your nails are still wet- you hover over a magnet that is on the top of the bottle to make different patterns and designs.
Magnetic nail polish is a tad pricer than your average bottle of nail polish – from $18 to Deborah Lippmann’s double set for $32 – but if you use it even twice it kind of pays for itself, right? … thinking… thinking…
Have you tried Magnetic Nail polish? What did you think? Is it worth the splurge?

I have one blog friend who tried some from Sephora and she loved it. I think it’s really cool, but I also love those glitter nails!

I love the glitter nails best too- but I am definitely curious to play with the magnetic polish.

this is the first time I’m seeing the magnetic nail polish. I’ve seen lots of women, including all the nail techs at the salon where I go with the chunky glitter nail polish. I have yet to try it, I’m not sure how appropriate it is at the office. I just opt for the Shellac or Opi Gel manis. I am now also seeing a lot of these Jamberry Nail Shields that come in all crazy designs and you sort of shrink wrap them to you nails via a hair dryer.

The OPI Gel manicures are awesome too- because they LAST! As for glitter at the work place- they have some more subtle colors- or you can just try it for a fun party 🙂 … Now Im off to google Jamberry Nail Shields. Never heard of those!

Hey that’s cool. I am crazy over nail polish ever since I learn to apply it myself. This is the first time I heard of the magnetic one, and I will surely try it. I’m excited to create my own patterns! I hope it’s not complicated to apply and there’s more color available.
Complicated Mama
There are LOTS of colors. Someone on my Facebook page also mentioned that they found one in CVS that was only $5… So I would check that out first.

I haven’t tried magnetic polish, but I did get a shellac manicure and LOVED it. The polish lasted well over 2 weeks without chipping.
