The term “Mama Bear” was dubbed for a good reason– bears, like humans, are serious about protecting their babies. Our kids are our heart and that protective instinct we feel is a universal truth of motherhood, both in the animal kingdom and in the human world.
Navigating motherhood now for 12 years, I can easily rattle off a list of instances my inner Mama Bear has kicked in. When they hurt, I hurt– whether that be hurt feelings, a skinned knee or a sore throat.
With all 3 in different schools and various after school activities, they’re constantly being exposed to germs– stomach bugs, the flu, strep throat, it never seems to end– and when these illnesses are running rampant in our circles, I will go to great lengths to prevent the spread of germs in our home– because when one gets sick… well, we’re like dominos.
A leader in killing germs for 100+ years, Lysol offers products that kill 99.9% of germs to help moms protect their kids from passing germs and getting sick– and let’s just say I’ve been known to spray every inch of the house with Lysol. I know I am not the only Mom who does this.
PROTECT LIKE A MOTHER– LYSOL EXHIBIT
This weekend, I partnered with Lysol to celebrate and honor a mother’s natural protective instinct and visit their “Protect Like A Mother” exhibit in Brooklyn Bridge Park celebrating the greatest guardians of all: mothers.
The Protect Like A Mother exhibit (on display 5/20-5/21, 9a-6p) gives a look at the most incredible and fierce moms on the planet.
From lions to swans, Moms in the wild protect their babies in all different kind of ways.
The exhibit is filled giveaways, fun activities and unique photo opps alongside ginormous orange orangutans, a purple bubble-blowing octopus and larger than life eagle nest.
Laina and I took on Brooklyn bright and early for a mother/daughter day and had a lot of fun walking around and learning about all of these mama instincts.
‘With your mom at your side it’s never a question of sink or swim’ Mom always has your back.
