Over the past few years, white has become my favorite color. It’s bright, its airy and I add it as much of it to my day as possible for an instant pick me up
“Don’t wear white after Labor Day!” the old saying goes– but that saying is exactly that– OLD.
So if you have a favorite pair of white denim jeans (eh hem, like my favorite pair from Express), rock on, my friend because today you can stretch your favorite bright white skinny jeans pretty much whenever you want!
But you don’t want to look like you’re lost in your summer closet when the leaves are turning colors and falling to the ground. Below are a few of my tired and true “rules” of thumb will help you winterize your whites.
Winterize Your White Skinny Jeans
by pairing them with…
Grey + Dark Hued Cardigans
Drapey cardigans are the perfect fall transitional piece. Tribal prints continue to be ev-er-y-where and I am straight up obsessed with my grey one above.
Heavier fabric tops
Think cable knit, leather and suede. Tops in these fabrics will instantly make your white pants feel a little warmer and more seasonally-appropriate.
Layers
Next to pumpkin spice, and the gorgeous colors of the changing leaves, scarves are arguable the best thing about fall and chilly weather. Stock up on some great blanket scarves in different patterns and styles for an easy breezy fall -white- look.
Booties
In summer you may have worn your favorite white jeans with strappy sandals or open toe wedges, but as temps cool down, it is time to break out those booties! Suede and fringe booties in camel or black can really take your bright whites to new fall-levels.
